According to the family, Ms Rahab Wambui died at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi on Thursday morning.
Ms. Wambui had been at the Intensive Care Unit since November 2018 and had been confided to a wheelchair for the last 10 years.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has send his condolences to Kenneth and the family following the dead of Mama Rahab through a tweet shared.
"It is with profound sadness that I have this morning received news of the death of Mama Rahab Wambui Muhuni. Condolences to my friend Hon Peter Kenneth and the entire family. I pray for God's comfort and providence in this difficult period of mourning."-President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On his part opposition chief Raila Odinga said: “My condolences go out to Peter Kenneth following the passing on of his Mother, Rahab Wambui Muhuni. May God grant him and the family strength and fortitude at this trying moment and may her soul rest in eternal peace. Poleni kwa msiba.”
