The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced that fuel prices will remain unchanged in the next one month.
In a statement issued on Thursday, EPRA the prices are inclusive of the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020, and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.
“In accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, the Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products which will be in force from 15th November 2024 to 14 December 2024.
“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene remain unchanged,” read the statement in part.
According to EPRA, the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol increased by 0.54% from US$637.70 per cubic metre in September 2024 to US$641.14 per cubic metre in October 2024 while that of Diesel decreased by 4.34% from US$636.22 per cubic metre to US$608.61 per cubic metre.
Kerosene on the other hand increased by 3.97% from US$623.39 per cubic metre to US$648.15 per cubic metre over the same period.
In the last review on October 14, the prices were reduced by Ksh.8.18, Ksh.3.54, and Ksh.6.93 per litre for super petrol, diesel, and kerosene, respectively.
With the prices remaining unchanged in November, a litre of petrol will cost Ksh.180.66 in Nairobi, while diesel will cost Ksh.168.06 and Kerosene will cost Ksh.151.39 per litre.
In Mombasa, the Petrol will retail at Ksh.177.42, Ksh.164.82 for diesel, and Ksh. 148.45 for kerosene. While in Kisumu customers will pay Ksh. 180.68 per litre for super petrol, Ksh. 168.44 for diesel, and Ksh. 151.82 for kerosene.
