Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua now says President William should be held accountable if anything happens to him or his family.
Speaking on Sunday, October Gachagua claimed that he does not feel safe and that if anything happens to him, the head of state should be held accountable.
“It is unfortunate that when I was here in the hospital, my brother and friend President William Ruto ordered the withdrawal of my security. Officers who were close to me were disarmed and given a warning that they should not be anywhere near me. I didn’t know President Ruto could be that vicious. If anything happens to me, President William Ruto should be held accountable,” Gachagua stated.
The former DP claimed that some individuals had tried to poison his food and even monitored his communication during a tour of Kisumu two months ago.
“I want to tell Kenyans that I don’t feel safe. When we were in Kisumu, undercover agents entered my room and bugged it. One of them tried to poison my food but we detected and we escaped the scheme,” he stated.
The former DP also alleged that that the second attempt to take him out happened in Nyeri where National Intelligence Service (NIS) operatives were sent to poison food meant for him and the Kikuyu Council of Elders.
“On the 3rd of September, another team from the NIS came to Nyeri and tried to poison food that was meant for me and the Kikuyu Council of Elders. I did report this matter to the NIS and the officers who were assigned to my office, I asked them to leave because I felt I was not safe,” Gachagua stated.
Gachagua went on to say that he had to ask some intelligence officers in his office to leave because he didn’t feel safe.
“I reported the matter to the NIS and asked the officers attached to my office to leave because I did not feel safe. After the two assassination attempts failed, this impeachment motion was hatched,” Gachagua said.
