Former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni has been elevated from the Jubilee Party Secretary General position to the Deputy Party Leader role.
Kioni was appointed to the position following the Jubilee Party National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Thursday, January 22.
The Jubilee NEC meeting was chaired by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is the Party Leader.
In a statement after the appointment, Kioni said his new role will include overseeing party structures, compliance, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
“Deputy Party Leader (Operations): Hon. Jeremiah Kioni — tasked with strengthening party structures, ensuring compliance with party processes, coordinating operations from the grassroots to the national level, and leading the party’s engagement and alliance-building with key political and societal stakeholders,” Kioni stated.
Meanwhile, former Narok North MP Richard Moitalel Ole Kenta was appointed the new Secretary General, replacing Jeremiah Kioni.
The party also announced several other changes: Zack Kinuthia was named Deputy Secretary General; Yassin Noor Haji as National Organizing Secretary; Vincent Mogaka Kimoki as Chairperson; Dan Mwangi as Executive Director; Kembi Gitura as Director of Elections; Peter Kados as Chair of the MCA Caucus; and Saitoti Torome as Chair of the Jubilee Foundation (Public Policy).
Kioni said the leadership changes are part of efforts to rebuild and reposition Jubilee as a disciplined and nationally grounded political movement.
“These changes reflect a deliberate shift toward rebuilding a disciplined, well-structured, and nationally rooted party capable of articulating clear solutions to the challenges facing Kenyans in contrast to the policy confusion, economic pressure, and governance fatigue being experienced under the current administration,” added Kioni.
