Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his DAP-K counterpart Eugene Wamalwa have announced plans to form a new coalition before the year ends.
Speaking on Monday, November 4 in Kitale, the two leaders revealed that they have initiated the legal process of exiting the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition.
The new political outfit will focus on removing President William Ruto from power in the upcoming 2027 general election.
“If we come up with a new outfit, it could even incorporate perhaps Azimio itself, so that is how focused we are.
“I urge the media not to bury Azimio before it is actually dead and buried because we have a lot of investment in that space and we want to be able to move in a manner which is systematic,” said Kalonzo.
Wamalwa on his part stated that there would be new things coming from them in 2025.
“All we can tell Kenyans is watch this space. We have a few days to the new year and there are new things that are coming,” Wamalwa intimated.
He added, ” I believe that this is the team that will save Kenyans. This is the team that will save Kenyans from the new taxes and Ruto.”
The plans come a day after Wamalwa announced that he was exiting from the Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition.
Speaking on Saturday during a national delegates meeting in Webuye, Wamalwa said they can no longer remain in the coalition since their ODM party counterparts are in government.
“We will not be a party to the praise and worship choir that has been created who have joined the president. We are saying as DAP-K that we cannot and we no longer find it tenable to continue being in a relationship with people who are no longer like-minded with us,” Wamalwa remarked.
