The Kenya National Authority (KeNHA)has announced a one-month temporary traffic disruption along Waiyaki Way.
In a statement on Wednesday, KeNHA said the disruption will affect the Gitaru Interchange on A8, an intersection of the Southern Bypass and Western Bypass from 19th November 2024 to 19th December 2024.
The disruption is due to scheduled road works for the construction of the Right-Hand Side (RHS) Carriageway between the Southern Bypass and the Western Bypass
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) would like to inform the public of a temporary traffic disruption at Gitaru Interchange on A8 (Waiyaki Way) and Southern Bypass to Western Bypass. This is due to scheduled road works for construction of the Right Hand Side (RHS) Carriageway between Southern Bypass and Western Bypass, from Tuesday, November 19, 2024, to Thursday, December 19, 2024,” read the statement in part.
KeNHA advised motorists to follow the traffic management plan, project road signs, and cooperate with police and traffic marshals on site.
The closure comes days after KeNHA said the construction of the Gitaru Interchange was taking shape.
“This is a major interchange that will link the Southern Bypass, Western Bypass, and A8 Road, delivering seamless connectivity and enhanced road safety,” KeNHA stated.
“Upon completion, the interchange promises faster commuting, easier access to the various intersections, and general growth for Nairobi and beyond.”
