The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has officially released the March 2026 Business and Technical examination results, with heads of institutions now able to collect them in person from the council’s offices in Nairobi.
In a notice issued over the weekend, KNEC directed that results are ready for collection at New Mitihani House, South C Offices, on weekdays between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. The council urged institutions to ensure all examination fee arrears are cleared prior to collection.
Only heads of institutions have been authorised to raise concerns about the results. Any such queries must be submitted through KNEC’s online Query Management Information System (QMIS), accessible at qmis.knec.ac.ke/externalLogin, within 30 days of the release date.
The council warned that institutions which fail to beat this window will pay a price. Queries lodged after August 9, 2026, will attract a processing fee of KSh 5,000, a deterrent officials say is meant to encourage institutions to act quickly rather than delay their submissions.
The Business and Technical examinations form part of KNEC’s broader mandate assessing learners in technical, vocational, business and professional training institutions across Kenya. Candidates are drawn from National Polytechnics, Technical Training Institutes, Vocational Training Centres and other TVET institutions, and are examined in fields ranging from business education and engineering to ICT and hospitality. Successful candidates receive certificates or diplomas depending on their programme of study.
The release comes just a week after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) announced the 2026/2027 university and college placement results. Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba confirmed that of the more than 900,000 candidates who sat the 2025 KCSE, 293,869 were successfully placed across various institutions. Of these, 202,133 secured degree programme admissions, 28,246 were placed at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), 875 were admitted to Teacher Training Colleges, and 765 secured places at Kenya Utalii College.
For now, the focus turns to TVET institutions nationwide, as school administrators make their way to South C to collect results that will determine the next academic step for thousands of business and technical students across the country.
