The Public Service Commission (PSC) has called on Kenyans to apply for Principal Secretary (PS) positions.
In an advert published in local dailies and on its website on Wednesday, November 20 PSC Chairperson Anthony Muchiri announced that the vacancies have arisen following reassignments within the Executive.
“Whereas, following various reassignments within the senior ranks of the Executive, a vacancy has arisen within the ranks of Principal Secretaries.
“Now therefore, pursuant to Article 155(3)(a) of the Constitution, the Public Service Commission hereby invites applications from suitably qualified persons for consideration for appointment to the position of Principal Secretary,” the advert read in part.
According to PSC, applicants must have a degree from a university recognized by the Commission for University Education (CUE).
The candidates should also have at least ten years of relevant professional experience, five years of which should have been in a leadership position or at a top management level in the public service or private sector.
They must also have a general knowledge of the organization and functions of government, an understanding of the nation’s goals, policies, and development objectives, and proven leadership and management skills, including financial management and strategic human resource management.
Further interested candidates must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
The applicants should submit all their relevant certifications and curriculum vitae as well as clearances from key government agencies.
“Each application should be accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae, copies of relevant academic and professional certificates and transcripts, National Identity Card or Passport, testimonials, and other relevant supporting documents. Scanned copies of these documents must accompany an online application,” the commission added.
Interested individuals have until December 4, 2024, to submit their applications for the positions.
