Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua now says there is a special abduction squad that is targeting Kenya Kwanza government critics.
In a statement on Sunday, Karua claimed that the special squad is based in Karen near the Official Residence of the Deputy President and at Ole Polos in Kajiado County.
She also alleged that the squad comprises police and KDF officers from President Ruto’s ethnic group as well as foreign nationals from Uganda, Burundi, and Congo.
“Credible sources indicate the abduction squads consisting of officers from the army and the police mainly from Dr William Ruto’s ethnic group with foreigners possibly drawn from Burundi, Uganda, and Congo are part of these squads housed at Karen near the DP residence and Ole Polos in Kajiado.
“A regime that finds it necessary to form a squad outside the official channels for terrorizing and murdering its citizens is a regime without any moral authority to govern and needs to be forced out of power,” said Karua.
The Narc Kenya leader noted that the abduction squad mainly targets activists, journalists, and youth which she said is a direct assault on the principles of equality, justice, and freedom embedded in Kenya’s Constitution.
“Kenya must not be a place where families live in fear that loved ones may be taken in the dead of night, never to return. The right to life and liberty enshrined in our Constitution must be upheld-not selectively, not conditionally, but absolutely,” Karua stated.
At the same time, Karua condemned the arrest of activist Boniface Mwangi from his home in Lukenya, Machakos County.
She demanded the unconditional release of Mwangi and all other Kenyans who are detained unlawfully.
Further, she said the Ruto Administration must take full responsibility for the safety and well-being of Boniface Mwangi and all the disappearances and extrajudicial killings happening in the country.
“It must be held fully accountable under both national and international law. The Constitution of Kenya protects all citizens from arbitrary arrest and detention. To violate these protections is to violate the very foundation of our state’s legitimacy,” Karua added.
