Nairobi MCA, 2 Other Suspects Charged Over Robbery With Violence

Viwandani Member of County Assembly (MCA) Aaron Kanga’ra Wangari and two other suspects have been charged with robbery with violence following an alleged attack in Donholm last month.

In a statement, DCI said the MCA was arraigned before the Makadara Law Courts alongside his co-accused, Kefa Munyoro and Zablon Kirima Mwangi, to face the charges.

The three suspects were arrested following investigations into a violent robbery that occurred in Donholm on June 26, 2026.

“Three suspects, among them a sitting Member of County Assembly (MCA), have been arraigned before the Makadara Law Courts to answer to charges of Robbery with Violence.

“The accused, Hon. Aaron Kang’ara Wangari, the MCA for Viwandani Ward of Makadara Constituency in Nairobi County, together with his alleged accomplices, Kefa Munyoro and Zablon Kirima Mwangi, were arrested following investigations into a violent robbery that occurred in Donholm on June 26, 2026,” DCI stated.

According to the DCI, the suspects attacked three victims before robbing them of cash and other valuables, after which they fled the scene.

“Investigations established that the three allegedly attacked and violently robbed three victims of cash and other valuables before fleeing the scene,” DCI remarked.

The prosecution argued that the group robbed one victim identified as Moses Ochieng’ Okumu of a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold phone valued at Ksh84,000, a 450-gram silver chain worth Ksh44,000 and Ksh34,000 in cash, bringing the total value of the stolen items to about Ksh170,000.

The accused are also alleged to have robbed Ian Ndirangu Muturi of an Infinix mobile phone worth Ksh20,000 and Samuel Njihia Mwaniki of a mobile phone valued at Ksh40,000.

The three suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges of robbery with violence, and the court granted each of them a bond of KSh1 million, with an alternative cash bail of KSh500,000, pending the hearing and determination of the case.
