The US government has issued an appeal to help trace the family of a Kenyan man who recently died in Boston, Massachusetts.
The deceased, Joachim ‘Jimmy’ Waweru Nganga, a Kenyan national, reportedly died in Boston approximately three weeks ago.
The US authorities are seeking to identify and locate a family member before his remains can be released for final arrangements.
Jimmy is believed to have relatives or close family connections in either the United States or Kenya, prompting an appeal to friends, relatives and members of the Kenyan community who may have information about his family.
Members of the public who knew Jimmy or have information about his relatives have been urged to come forward and help connect his family with the US authorities.
“Let’s come together to help Jimmy be laid to rest with dignity,” the appeal states.
Anyone with information that could help locate Jimmy’s family has been asked to contact (617) 579-7443.
The Kenyan community in Massachusetts and across the United States has also been urged to share the appeal widely through social media, community networks and among anyone who may have known Jimmy.
“The community is being encouraged to share the appeal across social media, Kenyan community networks and among anyone who may have known Jimmy in Massachusetts or Kenya,” the appeal added.
