Treasury Cabinet Secretary and former ODM National Chairman John Mbadi has claimed that the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga appeared to him in dreams seven times with a consistent message: the Luo community should remain in government and support President William Ruto in the 2027 general elections.
“It’s uncanny, the consistency of these dreams,” Mbadi reportedly said, his voice filled with conviction. “Each time, Baba (Raila Odinga) appears and tells me, ‘My people, stay in government. Support Ruto for 2027.’ It’s a directive from beyond – one that I cannot ignore.”
The Cabinet Secretary’s disclosure has sparked intense ideological tussle across the country, especially within ODM and Raila’s traditional strongholds in Luo Nyanza. For many, the notion of Raila as an iconic opposition leader urging his supporters to back his former political rival represents a stunning twist in the political space.
Political analysts are now scrambling to interpret the implications of Mbadi’s claims. “If taken seriously, this could reshape Luo political identity and Kenya’s 2027 electoral map,” noted a political commentator. “It suggests a posthumous bridge between two long-divided political blocs.”
While skeptics dismiss the dreams as mere symbolism or political strategy, others argue they reflect Kenya’s deep cultural belief in spiritual guidance and ancestral communication. To many, Mbadi’s statement taps into a broader yearning for unity and national reconciliation amid shifting political currents.
Whether divine revelation or political maneuvering, Mbadi’s dreams have sparked questions about Raila’s enduring legacy and whether his “voice from beyond” could usher in a new era of political realignment.
