President William Ruto has emerged as the most popular presidential aspirant ahead of the 2027 General Election.

According to a survey released by Infotrak on Monday, July 13, President Ruto enjoys 32 percent popularity across the country.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka ranked second with 13 per cent, while Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Jubilee Deputy Party leader Fred Matiang’i were ranked third with 12 percent popularity.

The survey ranked former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at 4 per cent support, followed by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino at 3 per cent.

Former Chief Justice David Maraga had 2 percent support, while People Liberation Party leader Martha Karua had 1 percent, and other candidates at 1 percent.

“William Ruto has consolidated his front-runner status, rising from 21 per cent in August 2025 to 28 per cent in December 2025 and 32 per cent in June 2026, a net gain of 11 percentage points,” the survey read.

The report also revealed that President Ruto is most popular in the North Eastern region with 59 per cent, followed by the Rift Valley 46 per cent and Nyanza 40 per cent.

Kalonzo has his strongest support in Eastern at 40 per cent, while Sifuna records his highest support in Western Kenya at 26 per cent.

However, the Mt Kenya region has the most undecided respondents 26 percent, followed by Mombasa and Nairobi at 24 percent.

Within the opposition, Kalonzo emerges as the most preferred presidential candidate with 27 percent support, narrowly ahead of Matiang’i, who garnered 26 percent.

Senator Sifuna ranks third with 19 percent support, while Gachagua comes fourth with 9 percent.

The Infotrak survey also found that a Kalonzo–Sifuna ticket is the most preferred among opposition supporters, attracting 23 percent backing. A Kalonzo–Matiang’i pairing follows with 16 percent support.
