An elite team of police officers have surrounded former Interior CS Fred Matiangi’s home in Karen.
According to his lawyer Dunstan Omari the elite officers want to arrest the former CS.
“My client is hold up as if he is a former fugitive,” stated the lawyer challenging the government to summon him for questioning.
“We can’t have a rogue Government that comes at midnight to arrest the former CS,” Omari stated.
Reports indicate that the police are trying to arrest Matiangi over corruption claims.
Azimio leader who arrived at Matiangi’s residence chastised the police for storming the home at night.
“I have just received information that police have surrounded the home of Fred Matiang’i. I was shocked to hear that police came to arrest him at night,” Raila stated.
The ODM leader added that if Matiang’i had committed a crime, he should be served with a notice by the police so that he can appear before a police station.
“If Matiang’i has committed a crime that warrants his arrest that should be made public and known to him… This idea of arresting senior citizens at this hour of the night is unacceptable,” Odinga added.
