Controversial businessman Thuo Mathenge is a sad man after the family of the retired President Kibaki denied a link to his new political party, The New Democrats (TND)
The Kibaki family`s denial has come shortly after an official of the party dragged the name of Kibaki`s eldest son, Jimmy Kibaki into the dwellings of the party early this week.
According to Retired President Kibaki`s private secretary, Ngari Gituku, Jimmy Kibaki has no link with the party allegedly launched behind the scenes. The secretary thus urged members of the public to ignore party officials who made ‘iddle street talk.’

“From the horse’s own mouth … talk about Jimmy Kibaki registering a new political party is loose and idle street talk. Kindly ignore,” said Mr Gituku.
KDRTV has learned that when Mr. Mathenge was sought to make a comment on the assertions, he neither verified nor denied Jimmy`s Kibaki`s engagement in the party`s operations.
“We are in talks with many Jimmys; Jimmy Kibaki, Jimmy Wanjigi and many other Jimmys,” he said.
Again, Mr. Mathege denied revealing the financiers of the party which so far has one MP and 11 MCAs drawn major from Eastern and Coast Region.
“We cannot reveal the financiers but we have support from academicians, politicians, business people and others in the diaspora. Our support is widespread,” he said.
