Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has signed the deportation of 17 foreigners who are directors in different betting companies. According to Dr. Matiang’i, the deportation the order will be effected immediately.
The directors are alleged to have violated their work permits by carrying out activities not included in their work permits. The move comes after the government ordered all betting firms to apply for fresh betting licenses by July 1st amid claims that firms have been avoiding taxes despite having billions in profits. A move which saw 27 betting companies denied licenses for non-compliance to some of the terms of the Betting License and Control Board.
