A husband and wife in Homabay County are fighting for their lives in Hospital after a gang raided their house, raped the wife and clobbered the husband with sharp objects.

The victims, woman and man were in their house on Sunday night when the incident occurred.

The gang broke into the house and attacked the husband, 59 years old with sharp objects, hit him severally on the head before he lay unconscious.

The wife who was sleeping in the bedroom was also dragged into the sitting room and gang raped in turns. The two family members are acquiring treatment at Homabay Referral Hospital.

This is not the first incidence as residents of the area had previously complained of operating gangs terrorizing the area.

Intermittently, after raiding the house and leaving the couple unconscious and left for dead, they broke into their other house, stole a number of chicken and disappeared.

A resident (name withheld) narrated an occurrence where the gang threatened any person who would inform the authorities or give links of their operation.

The area acting Chief Jane Atieno affirmed the matter adding that the investigations had been commenced on the same.

Although the criminals escaped, a man haunt has been launched for them and security tightened in the area. Police have requested people with any information that leads to the criminals to submit to them.
