A fatal incident occurred in Githurai 45 on Monday during the distribution of bursary forms, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to several others due to a stampede.
The event was organized by the local MP, Simon King’ara. According to reports, James Atanga, a father of two, was pronounced dead at Kenyatta University Teaching, Research, and Referral Hospital where he was taken for treatment by good Samaritans.
The deceased was allegedly pushed to the ground by a large crowd that was scrambling to obtain the forms.
The wife of the deceased, Pamela Munyangi, stated that they were seeking a bursary for their child in Form Four. The MP has not issued any statement regarding the incident.
