South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro is one of the vocal politicians in the country due to his role as the National Assembly Majority Whip.
The second term MP lost parents at a young age and was brought up by relatives and even lived in the streets of Nairobi City for some time.
Osoro did his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education at Chemasingi Primary School and scored 406 marks he was however not able to Kapsabet Boys High School due to lack of school fees.
The UDA MP joined Hill Secondary School, sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, and scored a mean of B+. He then joined Kenyatta University to do a degree in Education but he dropped out. Osoro enrolled at Mount Kenya University for a Bachelor of Law Degree.
After school, Osoro did a number of jobs including being a newspaper vendor and selling clothes in Gikomba.
He also worked as worked as a merchandiser for a sales company before registering his own company by the name Pitch Fall Limited in 2010. The company deals with direct sales and marketing of fast-moving goods.
The Majority Whip joined politics in 2017 after he successfully won the South Mugirango seat through the Kenya National Congress (KNC) party. Ahead of the 2022 general elections, he joined the UDA party which is led by President William Ruto, and was re-elected.

The lawmaker is married to a lady from Meru and the two have three sons. Osoro credits his wife for being there for him when he had nothing and has been his number-one supporter and advisor.
