Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been impeached after a majority of the Kiambu county assembly members voted to oust him from the office.
KDRTV can authoritatively report that a total of 63 MCAs voted to impeach the Kiambi County boss after a heated debate that was conducted on the afternoon of Thursday, November 19.

Ndenderu MCA Solomon Kinuthia tendered an impeachment motion of the embattled former Embakasi lawmaker.
Kiambu county has 92 elected and nominated MCAs of which 28 did not turn up for the session while only one MCA voted to defend Waititu`s gubernatorial seat.
However, the fate of the besieged governor us yet to sealed as he will have another time appear before the Senate to defend himself against a litany of accusations, among which are gross misconduct and abuse of the office
Currently, governor Waititu is fighting to clear his name from grant allegations
The governor, his wife, and 12 individuals among them si Kiambu government executive committee members were jointly accused of defrauding the county taxpayers Kshs588,198,328.
The amount was bestowed to upgrade various roads in Kiambu County in the 2017/2018 financial year.
Reports from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP), the specific award was choreographed in favor of the M/S Testimony Enterprises Ltd. whose directors are close associates even though the county`s officials were aware.
A total amount of Kshs147,274,055 was irregularly paid to the M/S Testimony Enterprises Ltd.
Additionally, the contractor received other tenders which included the supply of goods worth Kshs74,216,144, which is already paid to the contractor`s account.
Conclusively, the ODPP reiterated that the M/S Testimony Enterprise Ltd. was paid Kshs221,490,499 out of which Kshs 25,624,500 was given to entities linked to Waititu
A section of the funds was used by Saika Two Estate Developers to purchase Bienventure Delta Hotel owned by the county boss and his wife.
The Governor is listed as the owner of the Saika Two Estate Developers.

Waititu was arrested and later taken to court on Tuesday, July 30, where justice Lawrence Mugambi directed him never to step in the county office until his charges are determined.
His Deputy James took the office but is also faced with the impeachment motion
